Harmony by the lake
Located near the Geneva Lake, the city of Neucevelle enjoys an attractive proximity with the Alps and Switzerland. Its name is the reflection of the new houses of character that bloom in this mountainous landscape. Of Latin and German origins, it signifies “new stately home”.
A translation that perfectly suits this house of almost 300m2, which contributes to the beauty of the heritage of this town in the Evian conurbation. The owners, newly retirees, wished to transform their home in the starting point of their new life. A space they wanted more modern, spacious and opened to the outdoor. For the carpenters, they had, from a common agreement with their architect, call on the enterprise Jolivet, artisan manufacturer Partner Installux. An expert in tailor-made openings, capable of proposing products joining quality, modernity and durability.
Full opening on the outside
“This house offers a lot of joineries with various dimensions. They are, for the majority, sliding doors in line with current trends. Beyond aesthetics, these openings play a key role in a successful renovation.
In fact, they are the one that allow creating a continuity between the inside and the outside. Here – for example – all Galaxie® 32TH’s sliding rails have been ‘drown’, in other words level with the floors inside and out, which are themselves all aligned. Furthermore, the owners wanted to be able to open the sliding doors entirely. Therefore, I proposed two glass doors, composed of three leaves, fitted in the wall. In practice, they fully disappear in the stonewalls of the kitchen, giving the impression of being in a summer kitchen.
For the colors, the clients waited to give a metallic effect to their joineries, harmonious with the stone, and wished a grainy feel. Thus, we chose a 2900 grainy grey from the Installux’s ‘Material Effect’ pallet, applicable inside as outside.”

Orientable brise-soleils for an adjustable luminosity

“The owners are long-standing clients. This 1960s house was regularly maintained. One day, driven by a desire for change, they embarked on the metamorphosis of their house with the help of the Daragon-Cheysson architectural firm, who had also previously called on our services.
The word metamorphosis is perfectly chosen, because only four walls of the original structure are still existing! Everything have been transformed and the number of square meters of living space has been multiplied, especially with the creation of an additional floor and the enlargement of the raised first floor.
The clients wanted space, modernity, but also a great view on the Geneva Lake, anywhere they would be standing in the house. For that, we proposed large openings with different types of joineries. An easy-to-use indoor/outdoor living space.”
