One of them, recently built, was able to strike a perfect balance while affirming its own nature. Its owner, architect and family man, dreamt, thought, and then bit it. To move on to reality, he naturally called on Berger Fermetures et Menuiserie, artisan manufacturer Installux Partner, specialized in the realization of tailor-made and atypical structures. Of this meeting was born a beautiful collaboration allowed this jewel to make it mark in the local architectural landscape and to bring satisfaction and living comfort to its occupants.

A streamlined home with graphic lines

“Our choices had to guarantee that the joineries, sometimes of unusual dimensions, would provide real operational reliability, high thermal performance and real durability, with minimum maintenance. We equipped the living room with high dimensions sliding glasses integrated in a set of fixed frames creating a large curtain wall. A radical bias giving a grandiose aspect to the library.

Despite exceptionally large openings, the clients wished to maximize clear glazing and maintain a minimum of visual mass. To meet the expectations, the sliding doors and the windows were chosen inside Installux’s high performances range. In fact, the sliding doors Galaxie® 32TH as the windows Espace® 70TH perfectly adapt to demanding, architectural construction projects. Tailor-made with a unique style

Thanks to the use of three characteristic materials: the cement, the aluminum and the wood, this house affirms its minimalist and raw style, in perfect harmony with its environment.

The front door had to follow the chosen trend of natural wood, while guaranteeing a long life span. Therefore, the artisan recommended the high performances 70TH Comète® door, manufactured in his workshop. The wood tone lacquering, realized with the sublimation technic, gives it an appearance similar to real wood. The filling was made using wide boards joined by insulation. This way, the door offers the best thermal performance while bringing strength and aesthetic consistency to the all home.

Similarly, the artisan’s work on the façade was challenging: create a set of stores with aluminum profiles. Combined with the sliding doors Galaxie®32TH in the living spaces, the comfort and the uses are perfectly optimized.

Once again, the wood tone was the common thread to contrast with the walls’ cement. All the joineries. All the joineries are finished in an anthracite-gray color, reinforcing the modernity of the cement. This building needed numerous hours of research to find the perfect balance between the material and the Italian aesthetic the architect was so keen to achieve.

“Like all the architect’s houses, this one has its own codes. These include very large frames. The frames needed an important work to study the resistance, the glass’s weight… In practice, we started with the architect’s sketch and refined it as we went along depending on what was feasible. We shared his Italian inspirations to conceive a unique building. A true collaborative work that lasted for more than six month before starting the construction. The issue was to create openings and closings meeting the architect’s aspirations, owner of the house, while finding a perfect balance between contemporary and traditional designs in order to respect the harmony of the houses around.
