Sun on the menu
Renovating a building can be complex... Transforming a building so that it welcomes the public every day and offers them the best possible experience is a real challenge! Here, everything has been done to ensure that restaurant customers can enjoy the view of the lake below.
At the heart of the project: the creation of an immense glass façade, 18 metres long and 2.5 metres high. After consultation with customers and the interior designer, Installux partner manufacturer Lhermet Menuiserie brought its technical expertise and extensive knowledge of the products to bear. The end result is two entrance doors and eight casements: two fixed and three sliding. The double leaf retracts behind the fixed transom to save space. The Galaxie® 45TH sliding system was thus used to create a postless, 11-metre opening, weighing in at 600kg, which can be handled with a simple movement of the hand!

High performance, absolute comfort
How sweet it is to dine facing the lake and enjoy the last rays of sunshine... To achieve this, the manufacturer was able to create sliding bays that perform technically as well as aesthetically.
While the site is exceptional, it nevertheless presents constraints. The building faces due north, which could have posed thermal and insulation problems. It also benefits from the setting sun, whose raking rays could have annoyed customers. This was not the case.
After meticulous and concerted work with the masonry teams, to guarantee the best possible integration with the existing building, Lhermet Menuiserie craftsmen created robust aluminum profiles that were extremely slim so as not to obstruct the view. Careful calculation and installation avoided the risk of thermal breakage and watertightness, which are common with large glazed surfaces. To play with the sun's rays, 45mm-thick laminated glass with high solar protection was added to the frames, along with a set of motorized blinds whose wiring and motor were modified to be concealed in the profiles.

Testimony
"What can we say, except that we're delighted with the quality of the finished product! The joinery was a crucial point in the design of the project, as it's the real showcase for our restaurant. We had chosen the location for its view of the lake, and the renovation project had to do it justice. And it did! You can move seamlessly from the dining room to the terrace, without anything interfering with service. And our customers are delighted!"

Large-scale projects have a major ally
.The Galaxie® 45TH sliding window has been specially designed for large-scale projects and demanding aesthetics. Its tapered profiles offer a very wide daylight and a robust structure, able to accommodate glazing up to 45mm thick. Thermal and acoustic performance are guaranteed! Reduced thresholds ensure seamless integration and minimized contact with the interior. This ensures maximum comfort of use and circulation. Last but not least, its minimalist square design is a guarantee of elegance and allows the most unobstructed view possible.
Enjoy the light with optimal solar control
Thoughtfully designed with a reduced threshold, this large sliding window nevertheless poses exceptional insulation qualities. The combination of thermally broken frames and 45mm-thick high-performance glazing provides insulation from the sun's rays. High-performance motorized blinds, integrated into the glazing, modulate sunlight to provide comfort all year round, at any time of day. Glazing also plays a vital role: solar control, laminating, all technical solutions to filter the majority of UV.
