Aesthetics of comfort

A terrace in the shade of an awning is nice when the weather is mild and the summer mild... But it limits the use you can make of the space. The owners of this pretty Beaujolais house wanted to rethink the space to make more and better use of it. After consultation with Confort Habitat, partner manufacturer Installux, and a design phase lasting several months, a conservatory with a modern aesthetic was born.

The key word for this project was comfort. The owners' idea was to be able to enjoy an unobstructed view of the garden, whatever the weather. Thanks to the advice of the expert manufacturer, they opted for a Luciole® flat-roofed conservatory, measuring 4.8m by 4.4m.

The craftsman assisted the customer with the administrative formalities - as a declaration of works to the town hall is required for conservatory under 20m2 - and created a bespoke product. The roof incorporates a two-slope skylight, made of panels with a high solar control coefficient, which brings beautiful light into the new living room.

Thinking coherence of sets

Controlling sunlight, and therefore heat, played a major role in the design of this conservatory. This is made possible by the design of various technical processes!

The double-sided skylight features an insulating plasterboard ceiling, a good solution to act as a barrier to humidity as well as high heat. In addition, high-performance solar control glazing prevents the greenhouse effect. On the façade, a gutter with a contemporary design combines with a set comprising a Comète® 70TH full-height door and Galaxie® 32TH sliding bay window.

These two products have been designed to offer the best possible thermal insulation: thermal bridge break, anti-bimetal effect bar, etc. To reinforce these effects, the roof glazing is fitted with an anti-sun roller shutter system. The same system is used on the façade, with shutters discreetly integrated into the gutter. This provides optimum protection against the sun's rays, cold, privacy and break-ins. Finally, a customized heating system was designed and installed. Thanks to these various devices, the thermie of the new room is regulated and the interior temperature always equal, with no contrast in atmosphere between the existing building and the extension.

Testimony

"We were no longer satisfied with the layout of the terrace, but didn't really know how to improve it. When the Confort Habitat craftsman suggested creating a conservatory, we wondered whether this would pose any problems with insulation or waterproofing. Well, absolutely not! The extension fits in perfectly with the house. It's a great place to live, summer and winter, sunshine and rain. It makes you wonder why we didn't think of it sooner!"

A new dimension

Today, this new space offers a 360° view of the property and its surroundings, thanks to its high positioning and the choice of fully glazed vertical walls. The conservatory incorporates a set of custom-built fixed and sliding frames, and is installed to the highest standards, integrating into the existing structure down to the last centimeter.

High-precision workmanship for a perfectly insulated renovation. This new living space is totally independent but actively participates in the architecture of the property.

Finally, to ensure the aesthetic homogeneity of the place, the color of the conservatory was also given special attention. A light gray was chosen to be in total harmony with the house's doors and shutters.

A new cachet for this beautiful home!

A light well allows you to play with the sun's rays

To regulate the sunlight in an extension, consider requesting the creation of a skylight. That's what the Luciole® conservatory is for! You'll benefit from natural lighting that modulates over the course of the day, and an additional opening onto the surrounding countryside. This solution, an ally of low-energy projects, is available in several aesthetics, flat or multi-sloped, depending on the specific features of the house.

A conservatory under the sign of performance

The Luciole® conservatory is characterized by its contemporary design and the perfect integration of the frames in a logic of reducing aluminum masses, to promote great daylight. Thanks to high-performance 70 and 32TH frames, and a thermal break gutter, this conservatory offers unrivalled thermal performance and flawless watertightness. Its aesthetic coherence and meticulous finishes are also remarkable, both inside and out.

The craftsman's challenge

The real guarantee of success for this type of project is to work with a craftsman who knows every aspect of the job. It's not just a question of installing a structure, of course. You have to think about the thermics down to the smallest detail, be able to envisage heating and ventilation systems, and work closely with the mason... For us, as manufacturers, it's a question of taking on the role of architect. Which explains the meticulous study and design phase!
