Harmony on Lake Geneva

Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, the town of Neuvecelle enjoys close proximity to the Alps and Switzerland. Its name reflects the new character houses that are springing up in this mountain landscape. Of Latin and Germanic origin, it means "new lordly residence".

A translation that fits perfectly with this house of almost 300m2, which contributes to the beauty of the heritage of this commune in the Evian conurbation. The owners, newly retired, wanted to transform their house into the starting point of their new life. They wanted it to be more modern, spacious and outward-looking. For the joinery, they agreed with their architect to call on Jolivet, an Installux Partner manufacturer. An expert in made-to-measure openings, capable of offering products that combine quality, modernity and durability.

A full opening to the outside world

"This house offers a wide range of joinery in a variety of sizes. The vast majority are sliding windows, in line with current trends. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these openings play a key role in the success of a renovation project.

In fact, they're the ones that will create continuity between inside and outside. Here, for example, all the tracks of the Galaxie® 32TH sliding systems were 'drowned', i.e. set at the same level as the floors inside and outside, themselves, all aligned. What's more, the owners wanted to be able to open the pull-outs completely. I therefore proposed two bays composed of three leaves, installed in galandage. In practice, they disappear 100% into the stone walls of the kitchen area, giving the impression of being in a summer kitchen.

As for color, the customers wanted to give their joinery a metallic effect, very harmonious with the stone, and wanted a touch with grain. We therefore chose a gray 2900 sanded from Installux's 'Effets matières' palette, applicable both indoors and outdoors."

Adjustable sunshades for adjusted brightness

While roller shutters are becoming increasingly intelligent and practical, other blackout solutions also exist. These include adjustable sunshades (BSO). Installed externally in front of each bay or window, they provide protection from the sun while allowing light to pass through. Intimate ambience, but without penumbra! Slim, made of aluminum and available in the color chosen for the house's joinery, they are as discreet as they are durable. An ideal solution for people looking for a permanent opening to the outside and a sleek, even airy design.

A slider with multiple possibilities

Galaxie® 32TH sliding systems from Installux can be integrated into any architectural project, whether new or renovation.

They offer a wide choice of frames (two or three rails) as well as a wide choice of designs (two to six leaves), corner sliding or galandage, everything is possible. They have been designed to guarantee excellent performance in terms of insulation: thermal break, shields, centered polyamide bar. Particular care has been taken to ensure their aesthetic appeal. As a result, they meet the needs of even the most demanding projects. What's more, the customizable design is common to the entire High Performance range and allows great consistency with the rest of the joinery in your project.

Large formats are all the rage!

The facades of contemporary homes, fully equipped with "large format" joinery, are a true architect's signature, much appreciated by customers.

These structures with their pure lines are real jewels, where light and view are essential. As in this project, Galaxie® 32TH sliding systems with slim stiles and perfect alignment create a perspective that is both elegant and bold. Their sleek design is the guarantee of this beautiful interior harmony, where the eye is constantly projected outwards!

Another must-have feature of this contemporary signature: the panoramic fixtures, located above the sliders, which further optimize the clarity of spaces and the impression of ceiling height.

Testimony

Professional analysis

The owners are long-time customers. This 1960s house was regularly maintained. One day, driven by a desire for change, they embarked on the metamorphosis of their home with the help of the Daragon-Cheysson architectural firm, who had also previously called on our services. The term metamorphosis is well chosen, as only four walls of the original structure were retained! Everything was transformed and the number of square meters of living space was multiplied, notably with the creation of an additional floor and the enlargement of the raised first floor. The customers wanted space, modernity, but also a clear view of Lake Geneva, wherever they would be in their home. To achieve this, we proposed large openings with different types of joinery. An easy-to-use indoor/outdoor living space.
