A modern winter garden
Lorient, a port city in the heart of Brittany, has been recognized as a city of art and history. Rebuilt after the war, over time it became a city of architects. Made up of a multitude of urban landscapes, it has quickly earned the status of an atypical town!
An architecture that is often peculiar; but assumed, in the image of this house and its magnificent winter garden. Historically, it wasn't one house, but two! To the delight of the eye, the two have been joined by this incredible glass roof. It bridges the gap between the two houses, but above all, it brings light to the multiple interior rooms overlooking both a 900m2 garden and a busy north-facing street.
Built from wood, this authentic glass roof unfortunately couldn't withstand the Breton wind and rain. Damaged and increasingly uncomfortable, it eventually forced its owners to replace it... well, almost. Very attached to its aesthetics, they contacted Lorient Miroiterie, an Installux Partner artisan manufacturer, for a made-to-measure, but above all identical replacement!
Authentic charm and optimal comfort
Testimony"To retain the veranda's original aesthetic while adding thermal and solar improvements, I opted for the Luciole® tubular veranda from Installux. A complete, made-to-measure solution that allows you to create every possible shape! With the flexibility of aluminum, I was able to recreate the same winter garden that the owners had enjoyed for many years. Precision work that continues to mislead even those who knew the old veranda.
The interior comfort speaks for itself and proves that it is perfectly possible today to carry out an identical renovation project with the use of a totally different material: more thermal, stronger, more durable and easier to maintain. To fine-tune the resemblance with the wood and be up to the challenge of this project, we carried out extensive preparatory work beforehand to ensure the correct assembly of the profiles, the right cross-sections... We also made sure that the choices made were perfectly compliant with regulations, and that the technical quality of the whole project was of the highest standard. The result is a long-lasting structure that's a pleasure to live with!"

A new-generation luminous space
For this renovation, the craftsman manufacturer recommended high-performance "new generation" glazing. They provide optimum thermal comfort in winter while offering solar control in summer. Indispensable in such an exposed veranda! Thanks to them, the interior temperature of the veranda is pleasant even in midsummer. And as a bonus for customers, all the glazing is self-cleaning! Three skylights have also been installed on the roof.
They, too, have a significant advantage: they are motorized and remotely controllable. What's more, thanks to sensors, they close automatically when it starts to rain.
Think about renovating your conservatory
When we talk about energy renovation, it's common to think of windows. More rarely do we think of renovating our conservatory. The fear of losing its character is often at the root of this obstacle. But aluminum's qualities prove otherwise. Your craftsman manufacturer is able to recreate an identical veranda, while giving it the keys to modern comfort.
Similarly, it is currently possible to improve the thermal performance of a structure built a long time ago, while evolving its architectural style with contemporary touches.
A custom-made work right through to the finishing touches
To maintain a harmonious aesthetic with your home, you have an infinite choice of finishes. They can be authentic or modern depending on the style you're after. Like, for example here, the addition of hoops on the glazing.
As for accessories, the craftsman manufacturer an offer you several options: either a color identical to your joinery, or play the more original card of raw material. Also, to get even closer to the charm of the old, he can install brass handles, locks and cremones to reinforce the cachet of your conservatory. They'll stand out against the white, highlighting it.
The perfect way to create an old-world aesthetic that's truer than life!
