In search of harmony and clarity
It was in Savoie that our craftsman and his wife decided to replace all the wood joinery in their personal home with aluminum joinery. The aim of the renovation was to brighten up and enlarge the rooms in the building. A golden opportunity for him to develop his property with other works of his own creation. The project was all about light, clarity and harmony.
A large-scale project for which Alu Menuiserie Savoie, Installux's partner artisan manufacturer, opted to use a single color for all its installations.
A renovation all about brightness
Renovating joinery should not be taken lightly. In fact, it requires the creation of bespoke, perfectly sealed installations to ensure excellent thermal insulation. To guarantee this insulation, the craftsman turned to Installux's Espace® 70TH window and Galaxie® 32TH High-Performance sliding system: joinery with great thermal performance and available in a wide range of colors.
Opting for interior and exterior joinery in the same color brings a touch of harmony to the home. That's why the craftsman and his wife chose white installations with the RAL 9010 matte color from the Installux palette. A finish that brings modernity and softness to the project.
To bring even more aesthetics and decoration, the couple made the choice to add a blue line on the louvred panel that comes to create a private space on the terrace.
Testimony
"We wanted to brighten up and enlarge the rooms in our house. And above all, white is a neutral hue that can go with anything. Before, our woodwork was dark gray and wood. But we felt the colors made the rooms feel smaller."
The owners
Designing your outdoor spaces
Another challenge for this project was to develop the exterior with aluminum installations. The Satellite® louvred panel creates a convivial space on the terrace while protecting the inhabitants from vis-à-vis. The craftsman chose not to install it on the property line, in order to isolate the space without closing it off.
The couple also wanted a shelter over the jacuzzi and garden furniture. In the end, the craftsman chose to install a Luciole® conservatory without glazing as a patio. The solid roof protects the fittings in winter. This is a common solution in the region. Unlike pergolas, the conservatory's perfectly watertight roof protects against the snow, which is particularly prevalent in Savoie. This solution also adapts to the couple's future plans, which include adding glazing in a few years' time to create a real living room.
The craftsman's advice
To create harmony between different installations, the craftsman recommends limiting yourself to a maximum of three colors. It's also possible to match and play up the reminders between the joinery, the gate, the garage door...
The color most in demand for the craftsman is anthracite gray. But black and dark gray are also making headway. These edgier hues often find their way into renovation and/or modern construction projects. White, on the other hand, is a neutral color that makes it easy to change decoration. Wood tones are popular with customers looking to replace their existing joinery with an identical finish. It may also be mandatory for listed buildings and areas subject to Bâtiments de France, depending on the region.
